The Vice President, Communications for FUSION will oversee all external and internal communications for the network and support communications efforts for FMG Studios. This position will work in tandem with network executives, show producers and talent to ensure consistency of messaging and serve as a primary point of contact with key media. The VP, Communications will develop comprehensive strategic communications plans, integrating media relations, development of brand identity, policy advocacy, social media and events, and manage their execution. This position will manage outside PR agencies as necessary.



  • Oversee all publicity efforts for FUSION TV and play a leading role in content publicity for FMG Studios projects
  • Develop strategies and objectives for program publicity; develop tactics to achieve objectives consistent with overall corporate business goals and brand positioning
  • Develop strategic plan for executive visibility campaigns; identify industry events and speaking opportunities for executives; develop talking points and remarks; staff events
  • Coordinate business, consumer and trade media interest in the network and ensure regular contact with target media
  • Collaborate with internal partners to develop and execute strategies to communicate with employees and other key partners
  • Conceive and proactively pitch stories and secure placement in print press, broadcast media and online media about network, executives and programming consistent with desired image and strategy; utilize research and analytic to pitch key trend stories
  • Provide strategic counsel and manage crisis communications
  • Keep senior management informed of publicity activities and challenges



  • 8+ years experience in public relations, corporate communications or related field
  • Television and media industry experience; strong media contacts
  • Excellent writing and presentation skills
  • Strong time management and organizational skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products
  • Bachelors degree or equivalent experience



  • Experience working for U.S. cable network
  • Demonstrated strategic ability – from concept to final execution
  • Strong, persuasive presentation skills
  • Expertise in digital media platforms
  • Experience in budget management
  • Collaborative management style and comfortable in navigating a highly matrixed organization.
