The overall expectation of the Ad Ops QA Advanced Analyst role is to execute pre-defined tests and perform manual exploratory testing and investigations on all types of ad creative’s as well as platforms.The goal is to ensure the highest level of ad quality and user experience.


Ideal candidate has a strong understanding of digital advertising operations, knowledge of debug tools, is able to work independently at times and execute in a timely manner.


Candidate should also be able to bring creative solutions to problems and prioritize.



  • Perform comprehensive QA on various types of 3rd party assets for upcoming campaign launches. This includes Video, Mobile and Display across multiple browsers/platforms. (File Size, File Load, Expansion, Sound, Click-through/Landing Page Validation, Back-end Error Check, Tracking Parameter Validation, etc..)
  • Perform QA on emerging platforms. (Native, viewable ads, etc...)
  • Follow Ad Ops QA processes, workflow and best practices via JIRA ticketing system.
  • Serve as a daily point person for any ad related complex troubleshooting across our platforms. Desktop, Mobile, App, OTT, VOD, TVE and other new emerging platforms.
  • Support in technical implementation of ad products and custom units; work closely with Technical Producers, Project Managers, Creative Services, Production and/or Engineering to implement products on site.
  • Work with trafficking team at times to set up, modify and manage online ad serving systems including tagging and targeting schematic.
  • Assist with the internal spec site maintenance as new partners are added and product offerings evolve. This includes new vendor certifications.
  • Support technical creative related inquiries from clients or sales team.
  • Work with management from all departments as a liaison on projects, new procedures, new systems, workflows, best practices and campaign or creative issues.
  • Identify, recommend and implement tools and systems that will improve performance/quality as is relates to our suite of ads.
  • Perform Ads QA and sign off on new app build releases from an Ad Execution standpoint and conduct regression testing post launch of all ad products, site, app releases.
  • Work with ad server support team; Ad Product teams and other teams to address higher level technical blockers.
  • Assist with new vendor certification. Maintain certified vendor list.
  • Contribute to departmental wiki documentation regularly.
  • Conduct training session for topics that pertain to the Ad Ops QA and Trafficking Team.


  • Bachelor's degree a plus but not required
  • Minimum 4+ years hands-on experience in online ad operations or ad operations client services
  • Minimum 2+ years mobile ad operations experience
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills required and ability to adapt to changing industry, systems and dynamics
  • Experience with HTML5, JavaScript, Flash, Vast, VPAID, MRAID and Rich Media
  • Direct experience working with 3rd party QA, tag validation, 3rd Party ad servers and skilled at discrepancy investigation
  • Extensive Instream Video experience preferred
  • Must be familiar with IAB Guidelines and Ad Specs and industry best practices
  • Come with strong project management and ability to work both independently and as a team
  • Ability to be analytic, strategic and creative with problem solving skills
  • Enthusiastic, self-starter who is willing to be hands on with all aspects of the business
  • Proven ability to multi-task effectively within tight deadlines and competing priorities
  • Familiar with listed ad servers player/tools a major plus: DFA, DFP, Freewheel, JW Player, Charles, Fiddler, JIRA, Google Publisher Tool, Krux, Http Watch etc.
